Downhill Dragon FREERIDE - 11-12th February

The UKGSA returns to Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire, for the third year running to kick off the 2006 Race Series.

Dalby is a long fast course with sweeping corners that are more technical than they appear. Just under 1 mile in length, with speeds up to 40mph on Downhill Skateboard and over 60mph on Streetluge this event is a must for the speed freaks out there.

Andy was a first-time stand-up rider. A bad crash in practice saw him retire early, but he continued to marshal for a couple of hours. Many thanks, see you soon.

Graeme and Ian Dawson hit the corners. A downpour during the night made the track wet and brought dirt onto it causing more than a few hairy moments.

Jason Muscat enjoying the sunshine that soon cleared the course of remaining damp.

Joel smoking into the finish area. A new visor, devoid of tinting and scratches, gave him new understanding of how fast this course is.

Len, not wanting to miss out some extra fun, built himself a Classic Luge. Len's idea of fun is beating everyone else, so he did that too.

Neal cruises into the finish area after a gentle early-morning practice run. Watch out Neal, Mr Cool is catching you on his Buttboard.

A record number of new Lugers were at the event. Andy and Leo hitting new speeds (and plenty of bales) on their new Stingray Luges. John Paul borrowed equipment from Mr Cool.

No one could come close to John on his new Gravity Bike. It had radical, industrial styling and weighed the same as a small herd of elephants.

Pete Eliot was, as usual, unbeatable. He was also the culprit of a new fashion of not going on the word "Go!".
